Many of us dream about having washboard abs but as we continue to try to achieve them, we realize exactly how difficult it can be to obtain. The way it is done is fairly simple, you lay on your back and you bring your elbow up to the opposing knee, crunching forward and lifting your knee back towards you in order to do it. At the same time, you would keep your other leg straight out in front of you and off of the floor a few inches. Once you do this, you switch to the other leg and continue to go back and forth for a set number of repetitions.

Captain’s Chair – Some people refer to this as the vertical knee raise, but whenever it is done correctly, it is considered to be one of the best abdominal exercises in existence. In order to do this, you’re going to need to use the gym equipment that is available. Resting on your elbows, and leaning back against the padded area with your feet off of the floor, you slowly lift your legs up, bending at the knee until they are as high as possible. This is excellent, and you can immediately feel it in your abdominal region. You may want to try taking your legs to the side as well in order to work the obliques.

Deadlifts – Although many people would not consider this to be a stomach exercise, it can help you in a number of different ways to achieve that sixpack. Personally, I consider this to be at the top of the best abdominal exercises that are available. Whenever you do deadlifts, you are engaging the core to a certain extent but the real power comes in building lean muscle mass which will help you to burn away that barrier of fat which is covering over your abdominals.
